There is a whole other team that is tasked with exploiting your weaknesses and without other assets to balance it out, it is pretty easy for an opposing team to do so.

It's not necessarily because they're "not trying", though even that's getting hard to defend Johnny on lately, but it's more-so that extra gear that winners have. I don't think they are winners at this level of hockey. Not as the focal points of the team at least, which is what they're being paid for.
