How is that nonsense? Our core (mainly Johnny and Monny) are consistently no-shows in meaningful games. You can't win when your highest paid players can't be trusted to take over games when you need them.
When they're down by a goal with a minute left, do you think they look down the bench towards Johnny and Monny and think "those are two guys that are gonna go out there and win us this game"? Not a chance. Their will to compete is not high enough. Personally I think it's nonsense to ignore this.
