And a really good chef can do wonders with pretty crappy ingredients. (My ex and both of my sons!) Have you ever had "stone soup" prepped by someone who knows what they're doing? It's about the mix sometimes.
Seems to me the Flames have the wrong mix. I'm not smart enough to figure out who/what/where/which etc...but surely to goodness SOMEONE is. Or not....
