Not a good comparison.
Glencross wasn't contributing to the team in any positive manner anymore. He didn't contribute to Washington either. He didn't get an NHL contract the next season. His time was done.
Brodie and Hamonic are contributors and they'll both be in the NHL next year. They still have something left to give. Brodie more so than Hamonic but Hamonic will be around for another two or three years.
