I'm amazed at a lot of things.
Why Hanifin and Hamonic are still gogether, when they just make each other worse and can't handle the load.
Why Dube (LHS, underwhelming) is still up while Czarnik (RHS, was having a solid season) is still down.
Why Rieder and Lucic are roster locks. Neither brings anything to the table most nights and again, both are LHS.
Why Sam Bennett isn't on a power unit, when the PP2 featuring Ryan, Bennett, Andersson was a strength of ours last year.
Why Monahan and Gaudreau are not split up, when they haven't had real chemistry in ages, like maybe not since 2017.
Why Mark Giordano is still the PPQB when he's not generating anything this year. Even Rasmus Andersson makes more sense.
There are things that can't be criticized. Backlund's down year has been a huge issue because he is still our best option as 2C when he is confident. Giordano's down year has been a huge issue because we need his offense from the backend. But the issues that I am criticizing needed to be addressed ages ago.
Ward is a worse coach than Gulutzan in my opinion, and that's saying a lot because Gully sucked. I'd honestly have more confidence in Gully right now because at least his Xs and Os led to us outshooting teams, even if there was a certain listlessness to the offensive approach.
Hartley won because of his ability to keep penalties down.
Peters won because we were actually a good team under him, at least last year.
Gulutzan somehow stumbled into the playoffs one year.
Ward somehow feels worse than every single one, and not a single one of those first three guys was a "good coach" the way a Peter Laviolette is.
