I would have left Rinaldo in for tonight and taken him out for next game. Rinaldo is fast and is surprisingly effective on the forecheck, plus we don't know how physical this game is going to end up tonight.
The only change I would have made is replacing Rieder with Jankowski. Why? Aside from Jankowski starting to get confidence, attacking the net more frequently, and actually finally finishing some chances, he is a very good PK'er and overall decent defensively, including on draws. Oilers played a 'completely clean game' aside from the unintentional puck over glass from Smith. I somehow expect them to once again play a completely clean game in the eyes of the refs, and Calgary needs to kill penalties. Rieder is a good penalty killer, but Janowski is a bit better I think, and also has the ability to win draws.
After that, I don't really care how they rotate players in an out, but I do think that players should be rewarded for good play. I disagreed with Peters (I think it was still him, can't remember exactly) taking Rinaldo out of the line-up after he started scoring a bit. I disagree with Ward having Jankowski out of the line-up after he finally got going as well. Just when you gain a bit of confidence...
I get that Rieder is an ex-Edmonton player, but he has played 3 games already against Edmonton.
Either way, however, I think the Flames blow-out the Oilers. 10-0. Maybe 15-0. Things will get ugly, but fun.
