Well technically a post is not a shot on goal because they missed the net. I mean yeah the goalie might have played it perfectly leaving zero room to score, or the shooter had plenty of room and cut it too fine.
It seems to me that 9 times out of 10 when you hit the post as a shooter, you feel you had the goalie beat and just missed the net.
But goalies get to do what they want. They're weird and they talk to goalposts and stuff like that.
