I’ve been as disappointed as anyone with Johnny this year, but I thought he was very good this game.
He was creating chances consistently for the first time in what seems like months.
He had two breakaways (and I know he didn’t finish... dude get a new move!)
Most importantly to me at least is he had some strong defensive plays. He was back checking and showing commitment to playing well when he didn’t have the puck. If we want to have a chance to win, we not only need our best players to play well with the puck but without it.
I hope the trend continues.
