Isn't that pretty much the biggest problem when trying sexual assault cases in our judicial systems? They're effectively "he said/she said" battles, typically with very little evidence to support positive claims of wrongdoing, making credibility and testimony of victims and any witnesses paramount to getting any kind of a conviction.
The Jian Ghomeshi / Lucy DeCoutere case was a textbook example of this; the accused doesn't have to testify -- 'prove I did anything wrong', and the moment that possible collusion was discovered between the plaintiffs, the case was sunk right then and there.
