Wrestling is an industry that does much better when there is competition, for everyone involved. Wrestlers, promoters, writers, and especially fans. Complacency is the worst attribute a promotion can get; being constantly innovative and fresh keeps the product strong.
One big difference between the WWE/AEW era and the WWF/WCW era: fans want the emergence of new stars to bring value to the product, rather than wait for someone to "jump ship" and tip the weekly ratings war in a particular favor. I think this is where both NXT and AEW are both doing excellent work. NXT's build of Angel Garza, and AEW's monster pushes to MJF and Darby Allin have me particularly excited for the next generation of talent.
That said, there are options for guys like Brody Lee and the Revival to better build their brands. This is the beauty of the current renaissance of wrestling.
