Barker scored ~40 points in ~60 games the season before he was traded. The Hawks didn't wait two or three seasons after that to trade him, they dealt him the very next season after he started to show he wasn't that player.

Sure, though the Barker for Leddy trade was Feb 2010; 5.5 years after he was drafted in 2004...exactly the amount of time we have had Bennett. Obviously slightly different timelines for D vs. F though
It would be interesting to look back through the timing of each of those trades.
