Really, this is easy to tackle from any perspective and it circles back to what is my original point. You are playing honest, hard hockey. Why are you expected to fight?

Leaving this incident aside, look at the NHL as a whole.
we've seen countless big hits over the years that have been perfectly clean and the person making the hit was jumped and had to fight. 9 times out of 10 the attacking player is praised for "standing up for their teammate".
it's the way the league is, and all teams do it.
I agree it's stupid, but I don't have a suggestion on how to change the mentality.
