I always find this a fallacy comparing football and hockey. If a football player wants to avoid a hit he can lay down or run out of bounds. Hockey players are playing at twice the speed with a fence keeping them in bounds so a little frustration could build which causes them to fight. It is a penalty and the players pay the price with that.
