It's not a weird play. It's just poor sportsmanship and a lack of respect for other people.
Your typical Kadri, Marchand, Kesler, Burrows stuff.
There are two types of people that support these antics:
1. People that don't care about sportsmanship
2. People that will support anything about their team without fail
