That's exactly it. I was even looking for some profiled steel at the hardware store. They do have stud holding brackets in Framing, but they are very thin and made of galvanized steel, which would look like crap on a black rack. If there was a nicely finished black U-bracket, I would lined it up with some padding and it would do the job. Again, I have no idea where to get it and I've searched a lot. I can probably get it custom-made at a metal fabrication shop, but this is gonna cost way more than I'm willing to spend on this.
Looks more and more like black tie-straps is the way to go. It just really bother me that such a simple clamp is so difficult to source!
