The importance of being proficient at winning one goal games really can't be overstated. ESPECIALLY when you're able to lock things down with half a game or more to go, and not give it up.
It gets the Flames more and more comfortable in situations with the game on the line, which is something that will benefit them in a massive way in playoff situations where that is often the case.
Call me crazy, but as a fan that wants to see this team become successful, I prefer the choking out of opponents like tonight and against Chicago than winning in a scoring race 6-4. Winning by filling the net is something that won't last cause you can't bank on being able to do that every single night. Being strong at the tight checking games is more encouraging. Let the 4-1 type wins come when they're feeling it.
