Backlund's got some hockey left in him, even if it isn't in the top 6. Depth at centre is key and its starting to look like we've got it for a while.
Just readjust your expectations for Backlund. He can be an elite checking 3rd line centre for years to come while providing leadership. That's valuable.

I agree that he's going to follow the role of Stajan but the Lucic contract means this team is going to have over 10 million tied into two bottom 6 forwards. It's not ideal at all.
