The Lightspeed skip didn't bother me a huge amount on its own. But the ST has about a couple dozen things that at best don't extend from existing lore, or flat out contradict it. Those can only be overlooked if the movies were exceptionally strong in character development or plot, which they are not. So the nitpicks actually do add up for those invested in the SW universe.
