There is nothing more tired than the "argument" that fictional universes don't need internally consistent rules. If anything's possible because "space wizards lol", then the audience should be perfectly fine if Rey did something like flying 10000 feet up, destroying every single enemy ship with a single lightsaber swing, then reversing Palpatine's dark energy to bring Luke, Leia and Han back to life for a party where she materializes all the catering out of thin air.

The Lightspeed skip didn't bother me a huge amount on its own. But the ST has about a couple dozen things that at best don't extend from existing lore, or flat out contradict it. Those can only be overlooked if the movies were exceptionally strong in character development or plot, which they are not. So the nitpicks actually do add up for those invested in the SW universe.
