Calgary: Dalton Prout? Curtis Lazar? Hunter Shinkaruk? Nicklas Backstrom? Drew Shore? Kevin Westgarth? Ladislav Smid? Akim Aliu?

Basically every single team in the NHL has added multiple impact players through midseason player-for-player trades. The Flames' biggest add in that time is Ladislav Smid, a 6/7 defenseman. And this doesn't even include pure buys, where teams added to their lineup without making any player subtractions (picks only).

But even then, with those "buying" trades considered, the Flames have only added Michael Stone, Oscar Fantenberg, and Nick Shore since 2012. Not exactly gearing up for a late-season playoff push.

Did Hamilton + Ferland for Lindholm and Hanifin not happen?
