We would be insane to trade Gaudreau right now absolutely insane and I don’t think with the team we have that some sort of panic button needs to be hit.

Trading Gaudreau would be far from absolutely insane. This summer would be the ideal time to trade him. I honestly think the chances of him leaving are pretty good. If you don't trade him this summer the return is going to be peanuts. Trading him would be putting the organization first and continuing to try and build a winner. If you think the Flames can win it all in the next two years after this then yes it makes sense to keep him. I'm kind of on the fence of whether or not I actually see this team being that type of elite level over the next 3 years. Id lean more towards no. Its hard to predict what will happen. Losing him for nothing really sets the team back though. In that situation the team seems more like a bubble team without high draft picks. To me that is the absolute worst spot to be for a franchise. Even if he does sign here again he's gonna want 10 million which again limits the team moving forward. It a tough call but to me its one you have to really consider.
