Having seen The Rise of Skywalker today I feel rejuvenated on the franchise. I picked up my book later this afternoon (Scoundrels) and now I'm going to sit down and watch The Force Awakens... Though I may have a change of heart and watch Episode 1-9 before I head back to work in the New Year.

I'm totally going to go back to see this one. I saw The Force Awakens at least 3 times in the theatre and I saw The Last Jedi only once in the theatre. I saw Rogue One and Solo twice each.

I'm pumped about Star Wars again.
Totally. I am too. I saw TFA only twice in theaters, good enough for a repeat viewing but there wasn't a lot of things to digest in that first chapter either, TLJ just once for obvious reasons. This I expect at least three viewings on the big screen and I'm itching to go a second time, maybe tonight.

If we're honest, the film is a bit of a mixed bag, the people that didn't enjoy it aren't completely off base at all, but personally I feel like the good (and some great) outweighed the bad. And where it intended to have emotional weight it succeeded, and that's probably the most important thing because that's what SW thrives on when it has been at its best, as the series has never been perfect in a lot of aspects.

And above all, JJ managed to hit the right combination of buttons in this film to re-awaken mine own and many other fans' interest in the universe again, and even generate interest on where it is going from here in this current sequel timeline and that in itself is commendable.
