I don't like the idea of a shot clock myself....I feel like that will just cause the 3 on 3 OT to become defensive

What about an Over and Back rule similar to Basketball?
Once the offensive zone has been gained the offensive team cannot retreat behind the center ice line. If they do then its a faceoff in their defensive end.
