1. This is clearly wrong, because Schaller makes more than 1.075M, which is the maximum amount that can be buried. The impact of swapping one for the other is zero, from a cap perspective. That obviously doesn't even take into consideration the fact that Loui Eriksson also exists.
2. The Canucks basically have an offensive 1st / 3rd line and a defensive 2nd / 4th line. Baertschi clearly fits in as a defensive top 9 winger who plays PP2. There's room for a guy like that in a middle-of-the-road lineup like theirs. If it bumps Antoine Roussel to the 4th line, so be it.
