Except that the people bringing it up don't want to discuss the similarities and differences between the two situations. They just want to say "Trudeau wasn't sufficiently punished for it, so why should anyone else be punished at all?" It just a red herring intended, apparently, to distract from any of the meaningful, good faith dialogue that Aliu may be trying to encourage by sharing his story.
