Who doesn't like a lake? Your take is bizarre. People travel from cities all over the world to random lakes for vacations all the time. For whatever reason, sitting in sand on a beach while kids splash around is really relaxing. Doing so while slurping on a slurpee, eating a bag of chips and a handful of of five-cent candies is pretty much the best. Lake community people do that after work on a Wednesday. Sometimes we'll grab a boat and paddle over to the island and have a sandwich for supper. Last winter we ice fished on the lake in the winter. Sometimes my son and I will throw sticks in the water at the top of the waterfall and watch them as they try to make their way down the hill and into the lake. No barking dogs or dog crap, only a limited amount of people (residents) are allowed in so it's never too busy...I mean, it doesn't get better than that.
