We used the 300k of points my wife had, to get $400 in value (I found out on the weekend that 100k in Shoppers Optimum/PC Points is equivalent to $100 at Shoppers). So essentially, we got $100 gift card to spend on whatever we wanted, so we got the PS4 for free, and an additional $30 worth of stuff.
I've been holding out on getting a PS4 since it came out, so this was a welcome surprise when my wife said we should get it. haha.
Also got
- Spiderman PS4 for $29 from Amazon
- PS4 Controller for $39 from Amazon

Semantics, but isn't it more like you spent $300 in points and got all of that stuff for like 25% off? Still a great deal though, but that's not exactly "free".
I was eyeing that deal myself to upgrade from the PS4 regular to pro, but I couldn't justify it with some huge bills (Expecting $15-25K) coming down the pipeline for a home reno. I thought it would be prudent to not spend the money/credit until all bills are paid off and I have a better idea on the cash flow of my finances.

I jumped on this deal for black Friday and it looks like it's still going on. $170 for this combo which is regularly $270 seems pretty darn good so I nabbed two. I especially wanted it for my garage door since my new place will be an attached garage, having this to lock/unlock via geo fence will be quite important in case we accidentally leave with the garage wide open.
I've been billing thousands of dollars to my credit cards for black Friday/cyber Monday for materials and supplies for my home reno. I've been saving easily 40% total on expected costs vs my budget on quite a few things I've been eyeing. I've been quite happy about that. I also nabbed a ring doorbell for dirt cheap by targeting someone who was letting it collect dust and comparing it to the black Friday deal on Amazon. TBF, he's happy he got something back for it (nabbed it as a Black Friday deal last year and never got around to installing it/wasn't compatible or something) and I'm glad I'm saving money on replacing the old ass intercom system that was installed in like the mid 1980s, plus modernizing.
