The recent movies are way too fast-paced (other than the useless casino filler part).
I'm sure that as the series progresses, the plot will get more interesting and the stakes will be higher.

As for the most recent episode, a few things bugged me:

-Why did that daughter just uselessly stay in the puddle when the village was being attacked. Why did she force her mother to risk her life just to retrieve her. Does a 10 year old child not have enough common sense to run away? All the other children were...

-Why were they using wooden sticks to fight? Under no circumstances would sticks be a better weapon of choice than high-tech blasters. Not even in close range.

-Why did he break the tracking device while they were still close to the village? They should have flown to another planet, broken it there, and then left for another planet.

-Why did he take his helmet off while looking out the window? Any of the children could have easily seen his face. Assuming it wasn't some police force one-way window.

But I did like how the episode was longer than usual. It's nice to see they can just choose the length of the episode depending on what the plot requires. Every single character is great IMO.
I'm pretty sure that most 10 years olds when facing a fast advancing horde shooting guns and killing friends and families would pretty much freeze and probably pee their pants. I didn't mind that part.

For the wooden sticks thing, there were limited guns and they didn't have enough time to smelt metal into swords. This was a peaceful farming community with not a lot of weapons. Also the sharpened stick training took place in the span of a day, it was probably the quickest thing they could learn. It reminded me of a Clone War episode where the Jedi trained the villagers to use staffs to fight Hondo's pirates. Also don't dismiss a staff in close quarters combat.

I actually liked the idea of a Mando not taking off his helmet in the presence of people, it does go against the Mando arc in Clone Wars where the Death Watch guys were flipping off their helmets all the time to have evil conversations with outsiders. But the hut wasn't lit and he was pretty much sitting in the shadows. I liked it from a shot wise, and you could almost feel the longing in him as he looked out as the villagers and children through the whole episode and especially the eating scene. I could have this life, and a family and peace.

The tracker thing to me is harder to think through. How would they get most of the bounties information for the tracker. Is everyone given a tracking chip when they're born? How good is wifi in a GFFA if you can track people across the galaxy with a fob? I know its digging into the ridiculous depth of Star Wars tech that most fans go to. I mean I would get it if a quarry was a former prisoner of the Empire, they'd go to jail and get a tracking chip like the Slave Chips from TPM. And why are there individual fobs for every bounty, couldn't they just have like a tablet that they could download the quarries information into?
