There are some things that are not simply wiped away with an apology, and this is one of them. I am all for absolution, forgiveness and reconciliation, but there are times when the offending party must suffer severe consequences for his reprehensible actions, and need to then demonstrate contrition and a pattern of change and sincere improvement before all is forgiven and forgotten. This is one such instance. This should now be Bill Peters's focus. After having lost his job as a result of his totally unacceptable behaviour, he should now be expected to rehabilitate his own character before absolution occurs.
