I hope at least a percentage of this can be attributed to the drawn out nature of the last few days. At the onset, I felt sentiment was probably 90%+ anti-Peters. But the more we argue about the same issue on the internet, the less the event/actions matter, and it becomes about winning an argument in a vacuum. We play with various what if scenarios and have versions of the same conversation.
I believe most of the board, the city, the province, the country, understand why this was over the line, and I don't think anyone is going to be spamming their Facebook page with "Justice 4Peters" BS like when Grapes was fired.
I said this in another thread, racism is a malignant cancer upon the human condition. It can only ever be in remission, and when we as a society think we've won the fight against it, we have to remember that isn't correct.
