I tend to think that the reason why the trigger wasn't pulled tonight was the letter and the statement in the letter that he did it, he felt bad and he immediately returned to the dressing room to apologize.
It to me really doesn't clear things up enough for Bill to retain his job and return behind the bench. But it does throw some cinders on AA that forces another bit of investigation. If they fire him and it turns out that AA and the other players left out the critical piece of the apology that Bill is talking about, then its probably something that gets the Flames into legal trouble. They have to be 100% sure of the facts before proceeding.
What Burke said tonight about BT's statement was interesting, that it sounded like the league talking.
