The problem is abuse is a very hard thing to define.
What started this was something that was more definitive - use of a racist term. That's easy to identify.
Physical abuse is also easier.
But when you get into these other areas of mental/emotional abuse, bullying, manipulation, etc - it gets a little more ambiguous.
I'm of the mind that hockey needs to go through a pretty big culture shift and if this is the catalyst for that - I'm all for it.
But I don't know that means that we can look back and start to examine the way that coaches behaved years ago.
I suspect there are things that many coaches (including the Sutters did) that were acceptable then that aren't now.
