Flames coaches as far back as I remember, and the coaching styles I remember them having. Keep in mind some of these go way back, and my memories of them may not be as accurate as others'.

Bill Peters (limited experience hardass)
Glen Gulutzan (inexperienced hardass)
Bob Hartley (experienced hardass)
Brent Sutter (limited experience hardass)
Mike Keenan (experienced hardass)
Jim Playfair (inexperienced hardass)
Darryl Sutter (experienced hardass)
Greg Gilbert (inexperienced hardass)
Al MacNeil (player's coach)
Don Hay (player's coach)
Brian Sutter (limited experience hardass)
Pierre Page (teaching coach)
Dave King (teaching coach)
Guy Charron
Doug Risebrough (inexperienced hardass)
Terry Crisp (limited experience hardass)
Bob Johnson (player's coach)

We're right in start of what should be a pretty decent window, considering the ages of our best players. Wouldn't it be nice to not hire a coach based on their ability to bust balls, but instead because of their ability to manage a game/bench/systems etc?

Like, maybe let's depart from the hardass coaches for a while. It's not like we're swimming in years of success under them. I mean, it can't possibly get worse can it?

Edit: I remember Guy Charron as a player, and I remember he coached us, but I think it was a transitional period or something. I know Riser tried to do the GM/Coach thing, but I can't remember the full details. I did a lot of acid around that time too, so... well... you know how it is.
