Well, we have his account which was he did have a meeting with Peters where Peters doubled down. We know his captain had a word with Peters too, with no better result. He says he had a bad attitude after that, he says what he said at a practice to Peters which resulted in his demotion.
He was a 20 year old rookie on the team, who'd already had racial and hazing run ins in junior (and maybe was drafted ower because of it). I'm not sure why he has to be the one to be responsible for handling the situation.
Sure, maybe he's rationalizing a career that never was. But I know this - he would have had to go through stuff a lot of players didn't. It wasn't helpful, that's for sure.
