Again, I am against the use of the word, but an incident from a decade ago, while working for another team, in another league, makes this very different IMO. If he had said it while working for the Flames, nail him to a cross. But he hasn't displayed any of these negative behaviors while employed by the Flames. That's where I have troubles with this. I think he's a tool bag, but I can only judge him by what he's done while with the Flames.

It's more than that though. And we're suddenly well past the point of this being about one incident a decade ago.
At this point, you can best judge Peters by the likelihood he can keep the room, get the team moving forward again, and the chances of this blowing over without damaging the Flames brand.
Everything coming out now says the answer to all three questions is that it isn't likely.
There's no value in keeping him at this point. He's only a detriment.
