I don't see the issue with limited search (as being framed on here), the coaching world in hockey is pretty different then just hiring someone off the street for a job. The pool of eligible and viable candidates is relatively small.....targeted hires are totally acceptable IMO because there is a lot known about them from a body of work perspective prior to any interview process.

I also think when it comes to this situation, we need to separate the "bullying" from the "alleged racism" as issues. Both are issues, but one (the bullying) has some grey around it IMO in regards to what is potentially acceptable (not necessarily effective) to tolerate within the culture of your organization, the other, the racism, is a very cut and dry issue IMO that simply can't be tolerated under any circumstance.

To be clear on the bullying point above. People may have different thresholds on what constitutes bullying versus simply tough coaching, that could warrant some debate over what is actually bullying or not. Kicking and punching players for example...........definitely bullying in my eyes.
