As much as someone who likes to preach forgiveness and hope people can change, and all that nice jazz, I do think the onus needs to be on the party at fault to make amends. Peters has had a decade to reach out to Aliu and apologize, and from the sounds of it he hasn't. Aliu is clearly still affected by Peters actions and he has every right to be.

So even if he hasn't said the N word in the last decade, I'm not convinced that he would have changed enough and that there shouldn't be repercussions and I completely hope that Peters is let go by the Flames (assuming what happened was true).

However, I do wonder what would have happened if this was last year during the surge and the fans hadn't turned on Peters. Would it have been a harder choice to make?
