If this is true, then there is only one acceptable course of action for the Calgary Flames. Peters cannot continue on as head coach of the team.
There has to be accountability for ones actions and saying that kind of language in any situation is not only uncalled for, but utterly reprehensible. That kind of person in no way should be affiliated with the Calgary Flames. It is especially ridiculous as the best and most beloved player in the entire franchise's history is Jarome Iginla. He helped significantly to reduce and eliminate this type of behaviour from all levels of hockey and make the game more inclusive for everyone. To have the coach of the team to be the absolute antithesis of what Iginla meant to hockey would be unacceptable and would be the biggest black eye to the organization ever.
If Peters did not do this, that is fine, carry on. If he did, he simply must be gone. Period.
Either way, it has been an ugly day for the organization, and hopefully this situation is rectified immediately. The longer this goes without a resolution, the worse it will become.
