Being a minority myself I can tell you that when people say racist things, it is not only humiliating but it hurts. And sometimes that hurt lingers years later; So when you hear Akim Aliu expressing his situation we need to consider that he is comparing the situation now because it has brought back potential deep feelings of humiliation and hurt. If true, this is why racism should never ever be tolerated, not in hockey, not in the workplace or anywhere else. I am with the group that says lets wait and see what happens, but lets not take what Akim Aliu say's lightly.
