Disagree. Cycling is extremely effective in terms of possession and wearing down the opposition. It’s been an integral part of hockey ever since I’ve been watching.
If the Flames can’t cycle at all and have no ability to dump and retrieve they’ll go nowhere in the tighter checking playoffs. Don’t get me wrong I’m not saying every line should dump and chase all the time but sometimes it’s a play you have to utilize.
Why has the Ryan line been good lately? Good puck possession, good cycling, good puck retrieval. The rest of the lines need to take notice.
What’s lazy is our players. They won’t show up to start the game and have trouble fighting through adversity. Their work ethic is extremely inconsistent. The coach seems to be the exact opposite of lazy I’d say based on all reports.
There seems to be something rotten with the core and some of you just wanna stick your fingers in your ears and pretend it’s always coaching. The players are the ones not showing up for large parts of the first 40 mins
