I am man enough to admit perhaps when I may be in the wrong and in this case, I will admit that I probably have it wrong with regards to Brodie's case. It was a medical ermgency at the start, no question about. He seem's to be back to 100% which is great.
I personally do think he was given preferential treatment, which is TOTALLY fine! I do think its naive to think that Murray Edwards, Gio and a homeless guy get the same subsequent level of attention and wait times for health care.
I just don't understand how some people here are actually arguing that almost everyone who is being seen in emergency for a variety of problems get's access to a host of specialists within days. Not 1 specialist, multiple. Perhaps I am living under a rock here.
A quick scan of a couple of the Calgary Flames surgeon's online is showing wait time knee surgery at around 33 & 41 weeks for 90% of cases. Can anybody who's stating their case point to a time when surgery for a Flame was delayed by a couple of months waiting for OR time or to see a specialist?
I've personally had a couple of appointments cancelled from Dr. Ian Auld as he was busy attending to a Flames player unexpectedly the day of our appointment. On the flip side due to a connection I had years ago I was able to see a top Dr for hernia surgery in 2 days.
Let's not pretend here that a certain segment of the population isn't being given preferential treatment and access to services. We already know that if your not naive as it's clear as day if your willing to look.
