Kind of. The players were looking like they were on the cusp of being elite but really they had not broken out yet. At the time of the Duchene trade:
Mackinnon - 52 points the previous season, 14 points in 14 games prior to trade
Rantanen - 38 points the previous season, 12 points in 14 games prior to trade
Landeskog - 33 points the previous season, 10 points in 14 games prior to the trade
So they were trending up but really it was just the beginning of the emergence of some of the younger guys on the roster.
The rest of that season though was when they really took off (Mackinnon and Rantanen specifically)
Mackinnon - 83 points in 60 GP
Rantanen - 72 points in 67 GP
Landeskog - 52 points in 64 GP
