As been mentioned a lot on this forum already, if there's a year to be a massive disappointment and suck, this is it. The team has assets they can use to acclimate a fair chunk of picks in a draft that's suppose to be pretty good. With the pending UFA's coming off the books, the Flames can enter the off season with several early round picks in their cupboards, and cap space to work with. And the core doesn't have to be burned down to the earth in order to pull it off.
Just as long as Treliving doesn't trade any of the draft picks (unless they are late rounders) and keep most of our primary prospects, this mess can have silver lining at least. Just ride out the season, and focus on the upcoming years.
