Hockey Canada announces starting next season it will scrap novice, atom, peewee, bantam & midget hockey. To “simplify” and “be more inclusive,” the new age-division names are Under-7, U-9, U-11, U-13, U-15, U-19* and U-21.

So really, there is no difference, other than naming.

U7 = Timbits
U9 = Novice
U11 = Atom
U13 = PeeWee
U15 = Bantam
U19*= Midget
U21 = Junior

*Appears to be a typo in the original reply tweet. Hockey Canada has Midget as U18
