I'm not an advanced stats wonk, but he is first on the team in relative Corsi (4.4%), 0.2% better than Tkachuk. And this is with much less favorable ice time, 66% defensive zone starts. He gets no PP time, a lot of PK time and maybe 7 minutes a game even strength. In other words, PEters buries him as a defensive specialist. What are we expecting from him? Sure I'd like to see him take the next step in his development, but I'm unclear on what others actually expect from him. Top six center? Peters would actually have to give him some time in the offensive zone, to start.
