One thing with Jankowski that isn't reconciling with me this year are his advanced stats vs the eye test.
I don't think he's looked great visually but I do wonder if that's just because he's been a but unlucky and it's just hard to look good when the puck ends up in the back of your net.
He's played sheltered 4th line minutes this year but he's sitting at:
Corsi For: 58.9% (Team Rank 1st)
Expected Goals For: 60.9% (5 For, 3 Against - Team Rank 1st)
Scoring Chance For: 57.7% (Team Rank 3rd)
High Danger Chances: 61.5% (Team Rank 2nd)
Offensive Zone Face Off %: 41.43 (Lowest Offensive Zone Starts on the team)
Where he is struggling right now are the percentages:
On Ice Shooting Percentage: 0.00% (0 goals on 65 shots for with him on the ice - only 5 players in the league with 100+ minutes have a 0% on ice shooting percentage and him and Reider are the only two in the bottom 13 that have positive expected goals in that group)
On Ice Save Percentatge: .857 (Lowest on the team - 15th lowest in the league)
And it's these percentages that have him at 0 GF with him on the ice at 5v5 and 8 goals against at 5v5.
Hopefully the percentages do start to work out because if the 4th line can continue to win the battle from a possession and chance perspective then that could really help the team long term if the puck just starts to go in.
Jankowski and Reider together do seem to have some chemistry and really have been dominating from an advanced stats perspective - just no finish on that line right now.
