I think you're falsely attributing consequences to "outrage culture."

I don't think she should be fired, but I also didn't think Cherry should've been fired for his comments. That said, what I think is wholly irrelevant. If an employer feels they need to fire someone (for damaging their brand, or misrepresenting them, or whatever) that's entirely their right to do it and not up to us.

In my opinion, Cherry being fired is just an inevitable result of his slow decent into becoming a really awful broadcaster. This moment provided the reason, but he was holding onto that job based on name alone, no question. I'm glad he's gone, not because I'm happy he suffered consequences for what he said, but because he was a pain to watch.
