Today at dinner with my family, a veteran walked in with his wife. He looked like he had just come from a ceremony or other event.
Following dinner, and with the thought that I didn’t want to disturb them during there meal, finally decided to quickly go over and said “thank you for your service”. Best thing I feel I could have done all day. A genuine thanks to someone who served so that I could enjoy my way of life.
No point to this story, other then after some 20+ pages of arguing back and forth on DC, immigrants and internet warriors on all sides, that we remember what the whole damn thing is about.
