How appropriate that the rectal orrificies at Sportsnet chose Remembrance Day to fire Don Cherry! On top of that, their VERY brief article on Sportsnet website was very conveniently closed to comments.
I am afraid that all decency and common sense which most of Canadians are known for has completely gone out the window. Most people nowadays are more concerned with Political Correctness than actually comprehending what the comments tha Grapes made were really about(that is if most of you even remember English Comprehension that you were supposed to have taken in school).
Cherry was NOT TALKING about ALL immigrants, especially those who have been Canadians for generations, and their forefathers fought for and died for Canada. No, he was talking about recent refugees even mentioning Markham and the greater Toronto area where the vast majority of these recent immigrants are esconsed in hotel rooms at taxpayers expense! Sportsnet has been looking for an excuse to get rid of Cherry, since they took over HNIC broadcasts. So to those detractors of Cherry, you finally got your wish.
Our Canadian Constitution anc Charter of Rights guarantees Freedom of Speech and Expression which is what Grapes was doing! I never got a subscription to Sportsnet, too damnned expensive. My own personal protest will be however, never to watch HNIC again or to listen to 960 the fan broadcasts of the Flames ever again, and I hope that others will do the same.
