There are exactly two players who left Calgary in the last 10 years that scored 20 goals without scoring that figure prior to leaving. Paul Byron had seasons with 22 and 20 goals in Montreal. We can all agree that he shouldn't have been put on waivers. Chiasson scored 22 last year and McDavid assisted on 9 of them. 8 of his goals were on the power play.
The only three other players that left Calgary in the last 10 years that scored 20 after leaving were Cammalleri, Tanguay, and Iginla. All had multiple seasons of scoring 20+ goals before they left Calgary. Between the 3 of them they had 25 seasons of scoring 20+ goals before leaving Calgary and 5 after leaving.
There is no trend of players leaving Calgary and then scoring 20+ goals on another team.
